Hazel – he leads the rabbits from Sandleford and eventually becomes Chief Rabbit. Although he is not the strongest or smartest of the bucks, Hazel is a charismatic leader who recognizes and employs the skills of his fellow bucks to great success.
he leads the foray to Efrafa, and comes up with the final, successful strategy to defeat General Woundwort. At the end of the novel, he dies of old age.
